Classes
Terrific Twos -
Ages 2 & 3
This class is for our youngest movers and shakers. Only
30 minutes long, it is an excellent way to introduce
movement, songs and rhythm. Students will learn positive
socialization in a fun, dynamic environment.
Creative Movement - Ages 3 & 4
This class is for young dancers to experience the joy of
self-expression through music and movement. Students
will explore rhythm, coordination, and gross motor skill
movements. Through these activities they will have an
opportunity to listen, focus, and follow directions.
Pre-Ballet - Ages 4 & 5
This introduces young dancers to the very basic elements
of ballet. Skills such as marching, galloping, skipping,
sliding, leaping, jumping, and elementary ballet body
positions are incorporated throughout the course.

Ballet/Tap Combo Classes - Ages 5-8
A taste of different types of dances in a concentrated
period of time is offered to first, second, and third
year students. These classes are a great way for dancers
to discover and learn different dance forms.
Ballet
Our classical ballet program includes Russian,
Cecchetti, and Vaganova technique. Emphasis is on proper
body positioning and developing correct muscle
alignment. Grace, fluidity of movement, and discipline
are important aspects of this dance form. Ballet is
highly recommended for improving and enhancing posture
and is a necessity for the serious student of dance.
Tap
Tap is an American dance form in which the dancer
creates exciting, dynamic rhythms with their feet.
Instruction includes emphasis on musicality, clarity of
tap sounds, proper technique, speed, and a variety of
styles of steps.

Jazz/Lyrical/Hip Hop
These contemporary dance styles are seen on Broadway
stages, concert stages, music videos, and MTV. Jazz is
fast paced and danced to pop music. Lyrical is slower
and softer paced using popular ballads or instrumental
music. Hip Hop is a contemporary dance style,
popularized on music videos and is not as technically
oriented as jazz. Hip Hop is a good introduction to
dance for energetic movers and shakers with little or no
dance experience and appeals to pre-teens and teens!
Modern
Modern dance is interpretive. The instructor teaches
students to create their own dance language involving
elements of posture, balance, and strength to establish
a unique dance style. This is also the opportunity for
the student to learn to become a character, and for them
to experiment with comedy and drama. It's different - it's fun!
Musical
Theater - Ages 8 & up
We offer this class to students wishing to study all
three performance disciplines: dance, singing, and
acting. It is perfect for students who wish to become a
“triple threat” or for beginning students, to use as a
tool for more specific study.
